My Story
The story of how our mission started
Allow me to tell you a bit more about my story. I have been practicing pediatrics for over 10 years in multiple settings. I went into medicine because I wanted to be able to provide excellent medical care to my patients. I chose pediatrics because I love the resilience of children. I love their curiosity, silliness, and carefree mindsets. I love their innocence. I have a heart for parents who are doing their best to raise healthy humans in spite of multiple obstacles. Over the years I have been honored to serve families in the newborn setting, the hospital setting, and in the clinic. Taking care of kids has always been a joy for me. However, I have often become frustrated with the complicated healthcare system. There are so many barriers to providing good quality healthcare and I found that corporate medicine and insurance companies often contributed to the problem rather than easing it. I was frequently considering pursuing other career directions when I discovered direct primary care (DPC). In the DPC model, physicians are enabled to provide quality medical care to families without the oversight and micromanagement of large insurance companies and corporate health systems. They are able to keep their overhead costs low which allows them to dedicate more time and resources to the thing they care about most in their careers: their patients. Through this journey I have met so many physicians who have a renewed passion and joy for medicine. The DPC community is a truly remarkable group of doctors who are paving the way for better healthcare and I am honored to be apart of it. I look forward to sharing more about my “why” on this journey. Thank you for coming alongside with me!
